Rubrics

I have stated numerous times throughout this blog, how lulled into a comma I had become during the discussion of rubrics. I want to make it very clear that this is in no way related to my fellow cohorts. I mean no disrespect. It is just difficult with a topic as dry as rubrics to maintain a level of excitement about the topic. This week clarify one essential element for me. Rubrics truly are portion of assessment. I often think of assessment as being different than grading. Grading is an assessment of ones ability to convey knowledge. Unfortunately instructors cannot reveal what the true level of knowledge gained is without assessment. The term assessment is also used to determine the viability of various programs. Assessment is one of those terms used to define many forms of evaluation.
