I feel many others are probably like me. We want to start a diet and/or exercise program. However, we are not prepared. So that is why I built Day One. Also, water is essential for life! I am only suggesting water with meals upon occasion. It is assumed that you will consume the recommended 8 glasses of water in addtion.
Day One
Breakfast:
1 cup scrambled eggs
1 cup hash browns
1 cup corn beef hash (can be 4 strips Turkey bacon, 5 Turkey sausage links)
2 pieces toast with butter.
3 cups sweetened beverage of choice.
10 minutes light stretching either before breakfast or at least 1 hour after breakfast but before lunch.
Lunch:
10 minutes brisk walking prior to lunch if possible.
Meat of choice ( portion should be no larger than palm of your hand) (Note you may add cheese and tomato to meat sandwich, but avoid mayo, ketchup,Tartar or any other or sugar condiment).
1 cup mashed potatoes prepared to taste.(can replace with 18 french fries)
1 slice wheat bread or 1 hamburger bun
12 ounces water or unsweetened beverage of choice Non-Carbonated.
Dinner
3 bananas
As much of any kind of fruit as you want.
Shopping:
You mat go shopping before dinner if you like just stick to the list!
Preparation
2 cans of stewed tomatoes
3 large green onions
1 large can of chicken broth (or beef broth)
1 package of fat-free soup mix
1 bunch celery
2 can green beans
2-3 green bell peppers
2 lbs. carrots
(Optional additions: fresh tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, zucchini, squash, yellow onions, red peppers, spinach, chopped garlic, chili flakes or cabbage.)
Directions:
Chop veggies into small pieces and place in pot
Add water to cover
Season with salt, pepper as desired
Add canned veggies
Bring to rapid boil
Reduce heat and simmer until veggies are tender
You may also choose to buy other items like:
Cantaloupes
Grapes
Plums
Baby carrots
Broccoli
Tomatoes or cherry tomatoes
Cucumber
Snap peas
Cranberry juice, Cranberry -grape juice, and/or unsweetened apple juice.
Snacks
Throughout the day if you feel the need to snack the following are recommended options:
1 glass water
1 glass unsweetened tea
1 banana
1 piece Melba toast of your choice
2 4 inch pieces of raw carrot or 6 baby carrots
As much celery as you want.
1/4 orange or grapefruit or 1/2 lemon( Note may also be juiced)
